I was lucky enough to be part of a COOL COOL wedding recently; the creation of a terrific, creative couple and their nifty ideas. Here’s a little glimpse into their fantastic celebration!

Venue; unexpected; “City Hall”, an  elegant quirky restaurant built in a landmark building carefully restored to reflect the timeless atmosphere of New York City at it’s finest.  Tribecca factory; granite everywhere, exposed bricks, elegant columns and a huge mahogany bar

-Flowers; black feathers and burgundy calla lilies; some tables with crystal draped candelabras; some with floating roses and orchids, some with nosegays in oversized wine goblets

-Cocktail hour; passed goblets of white and red sangria and a huge beautiful cheese display when guests entered –Ceremony; 15 minutes of wacky fun right in the middle of cocktail hour; no processional, we simply arrived; the Canon started and my bride and her father appeared from ‘backstage’. Lots of laughs, lots of edits (the bride is an editor…..) -Music; jazz, Brazilian, techno; first dance to “The Luckiest” by Ben Folds, which we had used as a reading (if you’ve never read the lyrics, go find them; I challenge you to read them without crying…) -Cake: fondant; rolled chocolate cutouts resembling art deco skyscrapers -other touches; an art deco themed photo booth, with lots of props (feathers, cigarette holders, fake mustaches, top hats), matches with the couples’ photos on them, signature drinks and the funniest invitation I’ve ever seen (It looked like a ransom note, in all different typefaces….too funny for words).

And I have no doubt that it will!
